Description
First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver Manufacturer: Colt Model: Single Action Army Type: Revolver Gauge: 45 Long Colt Barrel: 7 1/2 inch round Finish: blue/casehardened Grip: hard rubber Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Description: Manufactured in 1926. Fixed sights, with "45 COLT" on the left side of the barrel, one-line Hartford address on top, and the two-line, three-date patents next to the uncircled Rampant Colt on the frame. Matching numbers are present on the right side of the grip frame, with a pair of Rampant Colt imprinted grips. Condition: Very good, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina, bright edge wear and extensive scattered pitting overall. Rotation marks are present on the cylinder, with shallow pitting on much of the surface. Much of bright color are present on the front of the frame, with the remainder faded. The left side of the frame is peened to secure the hammer screw (peened area since flattened out). Grips are good replacements as unnumbered, with chips, internal cracks, and "JRHood" on the inside of the right grip. The hammer sits low in the safety notch, and the timing needs adjustment, otherwise mechanically functions fine.
